These agreements, signed in Nairobi on Monday night, were highlighted at a bilateral meeting in the same city the following day. During the meeting, Barre emphasized the strong historical and fraternal ties between the two nations, as well as the importance of regional cooperation for stability and development in the area. He also underscored Somalia’s commitment to actively participating in East African connectivity initiatives. Additionally, Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who oversees Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, stated that the newly signed agreements aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both countries’ citizens. Prime Minister Barre and the Vice President led the Somalia delegation to the Nairobi meeting, where the Kenya-Somalia Joint Commission for Cooperation convened. Barre expressed optimism for the progress of the talks and hoped that the agreements would lead to closer ties between the two nations.
