Somali Authorities Free Ten Suspects in Killing of Aviation Worker

In Mogadishu, the Somali government’s Criminal Investigation Department has released ten suspects linked to the killing of a man from the Somali Civil Aviation Authority. After a joint investigation by Somali forensic experts and Turkish Police Forensic Laboratory, it was found that the suspects had no connection to the murder. The deceased, Nasir Muse Abdirahman, also known as Dahable, was 32 years old when his body was discovered by Mogadishu police at his residence in El-Qalow village, located in the Wadajir district, in February 2024. The CID’s findings were revealed a week after Somaliland officials accused the federal government of mistreating Members of Parliament who had visited the detainees. However, there is no evidence to support Somaliland’s allegations that federal lawmakers were subjected to mistreatment by federal police officers in Mogadishu.
