Farewell to Hull City: Liam Rosenior Steps Down as Manager After 18 Months

Hull City officially bid adieu to head coach Liam Rosenior, in spite of a strong seventh-place finish in the Championship this year.

Rosenior exits the MKM Stadium after a year and a half at the helm of the Tigers, who narrowly missed out on the Championship playoffs during his tenure.

When Rosenior stepped in for Shota Arveladze in November 2022, Hull was barely above the relegation zone, but he managed to guide them to safety in the 15th spot.

Despite signing a new three-year contract in December, Hull only suffered one loss in their final seven games under Rosenior this season, finishing seventh just three points behind sixth-place Norwich City.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce this decision,” said chairman Acun Ilicali. “Since Liam came on board, we’ve seen positive changes, but our future objectives are not in sync. It’s time for change.

“I have a clear vision for this club and will not settle. We’ve put in the effort to build a strong team, and we will continue to invest to bring success to our fans.”
