Ipswich Town Triumphantly Returns to Premier League After 22-Year Hiatus

Ipswich Town made their way back to the Premier League after a 22-year hiatus by triumphing over Huddersfield Town with a 2-0 victory at Portman Road last Saturday.

Kieran McKenna’s team secured promotion by simply needing a point on the last day of the regular season, as they were promoted from League One just last year.

Wes Burns opened the scoring with a goal in the 27th minute, followed by Omar Hutchinson sealing the win early in the second half.

Even with a loss, Ipswich would have clinched promotion, as Leeds fell short of the three points they required in a 2-1 defeat against Southampton.

Joel Piroe equalized Adam Armstrong’s goal, but Will Smallbone restored Southampton’s lead before halftime, and the score remained unchanged.
