Garowe (PP Comment) — Elon Musk may hardly come across as a cultural warrior who is working hard to turn the tables on what he describes as woke ideology. Musk’s online activism in the form of tweets and reposts (retweets) pose more questions than they answer. Would Musk’s purportedly anti-woke activism on his X (formerly Twitter) platform have been viewed as less divisive had he not acquired X in the first place?
“You are right” Musk commented on a tweet of Professor Gad Saad’s: “For many years now, I have warned that the path that the West is taking will result in civil war. It might take 5 years, 50 years, or 100 years but it is inevitable. The West could have repeatedly resolved these issues peacefully but it refuses to auto-correct from its path of civilizational suicide. Many Western men who are currently asleep at the wheel will wake up, and realize that they don’t like being pushed around in their homelands; they don’t like their women attacked; they don’t like their freedoms curtailed; they don’t like their faiths disrespected. Once this happens, prepare for some gargantuan ugliness. Those who think that they are gaining inroads in the West will soon find out that not all Western men are invertebrate castrati. Save this tweet and never forget who warned you” tweeted Professor Gad Saad.
The pretence of blaming the immigrant community for the failure of elite-driven policies such as multiculturalism seems to have no limits. The cultural warriors of the Right blame the “woke hordes” for imposing one narrative on the rest of the people, but resort to a far more divisive and violence-breeding narrative against immigrants and people of immigrant backgrounds.
“He knows what he’s talking about” Musk commented on a tweet of video clip of an Emirati politician who suggested that lack of decision making by European countries would lead to a wave of terrorism in the future. The United Arab Emirates does not host refugees nor is it a signatory to the Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol. The Emirati politician was scaremongering Europeans for their kindness to grant asylum to asylum seekers who fled oppression and civil wars in their homeland.
Musk supported the now-closed Future of Humanity Institute, established by Nick Bostrom, who, unlike Musk, views overpopulation as a hindrance to human intelligence and has argued that “white people are more intelligent than black people”. In contrast, Musk sees population collapse as an imminent threat to humanity. Musk is a billionaire, co- owns Tesla, Inc., SpaceX, The Boring Company, Starlink and is involved in other ventures. He transitioned from a leading global industrialist to a cultural warrior.
