Boehly Unveils Chelsea’s Ambitious Blueprint Taking Shape

Chelsea clinched victories over Tottenham and West Ham in their past two Premier League matches to heighten their European aspirations. Chairman Todd Boehly of Chelsea believes the team is finally executing their plan, praising the “beautiful football” displayed by Mauricio Pochettino’s squad recently.

Chelsea has splurged over £1 billion on players in under two years under the Boehly leadership, but they had to be patient to see returns on this hefty investment. After finishing a disappointing 12th in the Premier League in the 2022-23 season, Chelsea struggled at the beginning of their first term under Pochettino, but an impressive turnaround has put them in contention for European qualification.

In their last 12 Premier League matches, Chelsea only suffered one defeat, securing six wins and five draws. They defeated Tottenham 2-0 and thrashed West Ham 5-0 in their two most recent matches, propelling them into the top seven.

With upcoming matches against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Bournemouth, Chelsea has positioned themselves to potentially qualify for the Europa League next season, which delights Boehly with their advancements.

During a conference in Los Angeles, Boehly expressed his satisfaction: “In the second half at Aston Villa and against Tottenham and West Ham, we played beautiful football. It was smooth and exactly how we envisioned it. The organization, the shots we had, it all came together in those games.”

Chelsea’s dominant 5-0 win over West Ham reinforced their success with nine wins in their last 11 Premier League home games at Stamford Bridge, along with one draw and one loss. Since December, they have secured the highest number of home wins (nine, tied with Arsenal) and home points (28, matched with Manchester City) in the Premier League.
