Somali Foreign Minister Condemns Al-Shabab’s Video as a Smokescreen for Defeats

Mogadishu (AX) – Somalia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, threw shade at al-Shabab’s latest propaganda vid flaunting militant training camps.

Via X (previously known as Twitter), Fiqi contended the extremist group aimed to mask their recent battlefield thrashings with a flashy production.

“Watched a few from the extremist faction shooting a propaganda clip, really playing it up. It’s clear they’re camouflaging their losses with slick vids. Meanwhile, our national forces have demoted Al-Shabab from fighters to mere actors,” Fiqi posted.

The al-Qaeda-linked gang, al-Shabab, dropped an over-hour-long hype reel on Tuesday, spotlighting a “Special Force” supposedly fresh out of their “Sheikh Osama Bin Laden Training Academy.”

The outfit dubbed this piece in seven tongues: Somali, English, Arabic, Amharic, Oromo, Swahili, and French.
